Chocolate Lab training for search & rescue – (1/2)

Spirit is working on short blind problems. The subject is hidden down a trail, without making a sound. Spirit is learning to apply his indication (recalling to his handler & barking) with search work (using his nose to find the subject) This footage is from the perspective of the subject. Spirit hesitates after he leaves me, as he’s getting his bearing on where he last saw/heard his Handler. He leaves quickly, barks the “find” and re-finds me to get his toy- where he knocks me on my butt. ;-)

Toilet training my golden retriever ?

Ok so i plan on getting a golden retriever and i am 13 yrs old. I have asked these questions before but i never really told anyone about my plan so here it is and also i have a question

Wake up at 6:30 feed dog and play with it all the way to 7:15
then i get ready for school (it goes for 6 hours)
i will leave chew toys and get a dog walker to come to my house at 12 to take my dog for a walk.
at 3 when i get back from school i will feed it play with it take it for a walk to the oval train him (sit, shake, wait, roll over, lie down, and even play dead) then i will let it in the house and it will come to my room while i do homework then i will take him to the lounge watch some Tv have dinner read a book get ready for bed then go to sleep with my dog at my side .

Now does this sound like a good plan ? or is my dog going to be board out of his mind in my back yard for six hours (i have a big backyard its nearly bigger than my house and instead of a wooden fence its made out of tall brick so theirs no way of escape and he will also have a dog walker) and on the weekends i will take him to the beach or river.\

Also if my whole plan thing is a good idea how do i toilet train my dog is it possible that i can show him were to go inside and outside he can go were ever (i will clean it up) so will he learn that he can go outside when ever he wants and inside he has to go in one spot also how do u train them to go in one spot??? and as i said the dog will sleep in my bed so how can i prevent him from wetting it ?? should i just bye him a bed on the floor till he gets potty trained and he can come and sleep with me ???

and if this hole plan is not good please dont be mean about it and i have had dogs before but they were dingos (legal) and german shepherd mixes from the pound were i adopted them so i have never toilet trained pups before and they had each other to play with while i was at school XD

thanks xoxox
and i will play with it when i had my other dogs i was with them every day i was literally glued to them and i need to have my day planed out if i want to take the responsibility of a puppy

labrador retriever or siberian husky?

So im really stuck between getting a labrador or siberian husky. I really dont know which one to get. they are both beautiful and amazing dogs. But basically i just want to know hows the traing between these two dogs? i currently have a 6 year old beagle and peaople say beagles are difficult train but he wasnt to bad since i worked with him a good amount of time everyday. But he sooooo lazy. i wish he would like to play and go fetch and thiink of ONLY ME as his master, not my mom or dad. So my next dog i want him to be playful and yet like to cuddle or just lay rite next to me. I want him to think of me being his only master. and i guess training wont be a big deal if beagles are suppose to be hard to train. and shedding… wellll ive seen videos of husky coat blowing. But i wish i new how much theere everyday shedding is. im in 9th grade and im truly an animal lover. i’m working onhopefully becoming a veterinarian when im older. But once again i would like a dog that is nice, playful, and yet like to relax, smart, thinks of me only being his master, i will give them pleanty enough exersize. i currently take my beagle to the beach occationall on weekends with me and walk him for about 30 to an hour walks twice a day. Oh and which ons are more healthy? i Do knkow labradors usually get hip-displeysia but is that all ways? And please dont tell me to get a dog from a shelter because thats really annoying. i am going to look everywhere for the perfect dog! im not going to get him from those puppy mills ok? but just please tell me which one i should get or adleast think about getting? i like medium sized dogs and exspecially large dogs. leave comments if you had had expireince with one or both of these dogs thank you. and other dogs ive been thinking about is a boxer and english springer spaniel or maybe even another beagle. oh and dont think i dont like my beagle because he is truly the love of my life!! i just would like to have another dog hopefully. thank you!! (:

My Golden Retriever??? Easy Question!!!?

Well, this bit of information you are about to get doesn’t pertain to my questions (I have a couple of them.) So, I am getting my 5 year old pure bred Golden Retriever spayed in a couple of weeks. Okay, back to my questions. I bought her when she was a puppy and I am now starting to clicker- train her. Also, I am getting her groomed at my vet’s office for her first time ever (other than us.) So here are my questions:

*What can I use as treats for the clicker training that I would probably find in my home. I don’t want to buy anything.

*What can I do for my dog to calm her for her grooming in a couple of weeks because I won’t be there (it’s like a drop of thing and then you pick them up later in the day when they are done with the groom.)

Thanks for all the answers!

Newfoundland Dog (Dog Training)

For training your wonderful Dog bit.ly ========================= Thank you FreeFoto.com for the use of your pictures Newfoundland “The Newfoundland is a large, usually black, breed of dog originally used as a working dog in Newfoundland. They are known for their sweet dispositions, loyalty, and natural water rescue tendencies. The Newfoundland dog excels at water rescue, due partly to their webbed feet and amazing swimming abilities. Newfoundland dogs require grooming at least once every two weeks. Extremely loving and patient, as puppies Newfoundlands are laid-back and considered easy to housebreak. History ———- The breed originated in Newfoundland from a breed indigenous to the island, that later became known as the St. John’s Dog. The speculation they may be partly descended from the big black bear dogs introduced by the Vikings in 1001 AD is based more in romance than in fact. It is more likely that their size results from the introduction of large mastiffs, brought to the island by many generations of Portuguese fishermen, who had been fishing the Grand Banks of Newfoundland since the 1400s. By the time colonization was permitted in 1610, the distinct physical characteristics and mental attributes had been established in the breed. In the early 1880s fishermen from Ireland and England traveled to the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, where there they described two main types of working dog: one more heavily built, large with a longish coat, whereas the other was
