She’s pretty good about bringing them back when playing. I try to keep her toys in a bowl and was wondering if its possible to train her to drop her toys in the bowl instead of the ground?

Toilet training my golden retriever ?

Ok so i plan on getting a golden retriever and i am 13 yrs old. I have asked these questions before but i never really told anyone about my plan so here it is and also i have a question

Wake up at 6:30 feed dog and play with it all the way to 7:15
then i get ready for school (it goes for 6 hours)
i will leave chew toys and get a dog walker to come to my house at 12 to take my dog for a walk.
at 3 when i get back from school i will feed it play with it take it for a walk to the oval train him (sit, shake, wait, roll over, lie down, and even play dead) then i will let it in the house and it will come to my room while i do homework then i will take him to the lounge watch some Tv have dinner read a book get ready for bed then go to sleep with my dog at my side .

Now does this sound like a good plan ? or is my dog going to be board out of his mind in my back yard for six hours (i have a big backyard its nearly bigger than my house and instead of a wooden fence its made out of tall brick so theirs no way of escape and he will also have a dog walker) and on the weekends i will take him to the beach or river.\

Also if my whole plan thing is a good idea how do i toilet train my dog is it possible that i can show him were to go inside and outside he can go were ever (i will clean it up) so will he learn that he can go outside when ever he wants and inside he has to go in one spot also how do u train them to go in one spot??? and as i said the dog will sleep in my bed so how can i prevent him from wetting it ?? should i just bye him a bed on the floor till he gets potty trained and he can come and sleep with me ???

and if this hole plan is not good please dont be mean about it and i have had dogs before but they were dingos (legal) and german shepherd mixes from the pound were i adopted them so i have never toilet trained pups before and they had each other to play with while i was at school XD

thanks xoxox
and i will play with it when i had my other dogs i was with them every day i was literally glued to them and i need to have my day planed out if i want to take the responsibility of a puppy

Help golden retriever training?

Ok so soon i will be getting a golden. I have asked this question before but none of the answers are helping me so i am going to ask it again and hopefully some one under stands.

When i get my golden retriever (8weeks) he is going to be an inside dog and outside. When i am at school i will put him outside and when i get back he will be an inside now the problem is toilet training. I have no idea what i am going to do. I dont even no what happens in toilet training , is the dog supposed to give you signs that he wants to go outside or do u teach him to go in one spot of the house like with cats in a liter box???. I am also concerned that my puppy will not understand that outside is ok to pee and poop in but inside is not and he will forgot that and just go and do pee and poo everywhere.

Also one more thing i know goldens are active dogs but will they still laze around some days???
MY puppy is going to have supervision is going to be walked while i am at school AND is going to have chew toys

labrador training advice needed?

Hey, I have a 1 yr old black lab and he’s been getting a bit bad especially around my parents so I was hoping anyone could give me advice to improve his behavior.

1. He is constantly stealing food off the counters even though we do give him food when he sits down nicely and does what we ask him to.
2. I would like him to listen more instead of occasionally. For example he will come over when i call but sometimes he rather just run away. He always comes if there is food but somehow knows when i dont lol
3. I want him to start walking around the house (when i’m not around) without grabbing things and chewing on it. He has a crap load of toys but like a kid only plays with them for a week then stops.
4. any other advice improve my puppies behavior would be greatly appreciated

thank you
just to be clear. he has gotten classes and even passed with flying colors for his puppy and intermediate level classes. Essentially he can do little tricks, but the the stuff he is doing now wasn’t really taught in class. He was never a little thief until recently.

I need help with training my 9 month old black lab?

He is constantly picking fights with my cat, and he always bullies my older 12 year old chocolate lab. (Pushing him around, barking, biting etc ) another big problem is that he has a few toys around(ropes, chew toys and such) he ALWAYS wants to play and he’ll bark if you don’t. He has an ear piercing bark. He sometimes snaps at you if you don’t play. It’s becoming unbearable the way he always is bothersome. I guess this is to be expected from a puppy, but there has to be something i can do, Please Help.
You think puppy, and you may think tiny but he’s got a few inches on my chocolate lab. And he definitely has a tough bite.

Don’t think that we never play with him, I do a lot, but sometimes i need to relax.

Dog training.?

I have a 3 year old labrador retriever (possibly mixed with a weimeriner).
He’s been an indoor dog all his life and is very friendly and hasn’t grown up living with any dogs.
Although from time to time he has been around them and he is nothing but friendly with them.
We started going to a dog park within the last year and take every now and then where we let him run with the other dogs.
It all started out good.
He played well, was a little nervous. But nothing grand.
Well lately whenever the tennis ball is thrown and another dog gets it he gets so angry and starts barking and fighting with the dog.
So we’ve taken him out for a while to try to identify how to fix the problem.
He seems to get really jealous when someone gets the toy before him.
Can i train him to stop being like that this late in the game?
And how can i do it?
It’s sort of hard to not surround him with toys because all the people at the park bring toys and most of the dogs all play together and then my dog sees the toy in the air and goes after it.

Kennel training help?

So, I’ve been trying to kennel train my 10 week old lab puppy but I’m not so sure if I’m doing it correctly so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
This is what I am currently doing: I bought a kennel that’s the made for an adult labrador and stuffed the back with his toys and put blankets in it. Before bed, I take him out for him to do his business and then put him in his kennel. If he’s sleepy he will stay quiet but sometimes he’ll whine just for wanting to play. He starts barking when he really needs to go poo or pee which usually at odd hours of the night and I let him out into the yard and then put him back in his kennel. If I don’t do this, he will usually release in the kennel. Am I doing something wrong? Advice would be much appreciated! Thank you all :-)

How to crate and teething with pit/lab puppy?

I have a couple questions. I adopted a pitbull/lab mix last night and I was told he was around 8 weeks old. I really don’t think he is, he barely has any teeth, so I fed him wet food, and he has this pink bump on his butt. I am taking him to the vet today, I just wanted to get advice on Crating him and helping him with his teething.
Where I got him from they kept him outside in the durt and I keep my dogs inside. I have him in a crate as he is not potty trained. My other lab who is 2 sleeps in his bed. The baby cried and cried. I took him out, i played with him, he pottied and still no sleep. So I gave him a little bit of milk and bam he was done crying and passed out for a couple hours. This went on all night. I just didn’t give him milk every time. So my question is what is a good way to crate train?
Second question, he is teething, he has toys but all he wants to do is suck on my finger, not bit but suck. Is this part of teething? This is my first puppy, so if these questions sound stupid sorry. My other lab I rescued when he was a year.
it is very cute when he suckles my finger. I was so worried that he is not getting the right food he needs. He is a cutie.
Thank you for the advice on the crate. I don’t crate my other dog at night, because he is potty trained so I have never crated at night. It weakens my heart

but the problem is we both work 8 hours per day. Our work and home is 35+ miles apart, so we cannot come home during lunch. We looked into adopting an older dog, but a lot of these dogs have gone through some sort of trauma already and as first time pet owners, we cannot be home much longer with him to make him feel secure. We are also worried as how to handle a big dog. We both feel comforatble trainning a puppy and help him adjust with our schedule. I’ve made arrangements to WFH 1 day a week. This leaves 4 days of him being alone for 8 hours. Do working couples not buy puppies? How do people manage all this? Any pointers will be greatly appriciated. I have looked into dog wakers, they do charge quite a bit(35$ per visit), I am also worried about trusting this little guy with a stranger. I don’t want to make a mistake and ruin a puppy’s life, but i want to have one badly…help!
thanks a lot for all your helpful answers.
I was planning to buy a crate and also a fence/play pen around the crate, leave food and water along with some toys for him.
My friends lab left like this started to eat his poop and amuse himself, i don’t want to give him a chance to pick up bad habits.
