Breslin is a true puppy; one who loves to bite, gnaw, nibble, chew (pillows, rugs, blankets, wood chips, towels, paper, napkins, socks), and jump up on anything and everything. In this video, you’ll see me trying to grade my students’ papers while Breslin is behaving poorly. I correct her bad puppy behavior to get her into a calm, submissive state (she’s a very energetic and hyper pup!). Using the clicker, I reward her for doing what she should be doing rather than punish her for her bad habits. Remember to be patient and consistent. She’s a work in progress and is learning!

Here my 10-week old puppy, Breslin, learned how to push the “Easy” button. This video shows the true power of clicker training. This didn’t take long for her to figure out at all. Just remember to click whenever you’d say, “Yes.”

Labrador training tips and advise needed please!?

I have a gorgeous 2 year old black Labrador called Molly. She is absolutely perfect indoors, fully house trained, doesn’t chew, perfect with our three small children and will come, sit, paw etc on demand. She loves cuddles and gets treats as rewards for her excellent behaviour….anyhow, the second she crosses the threshold of our front door she changes into a little monster. She used to be fine but now she will pull on her leash (when she does this I just freeze so she doesn’t get to move anywhere so hopefully she will learn quickly that this is unacceptable behaviour), she barks at other dogs which frightens them and their owners, yet she never used to do this before – and she’s used to other dogs so I don’t know why she’s suddenly barking at them). If she’s off her leash (which she doesn’t get to do anymore) she will run and not come back despite being called. I can’t pinpoint a reason as to why out of the blue her behaviour suddenly changed! I’d appreciate any input and advise. I’d quite like to go to puppy training classes again with her but my husband is working away from home until Christmas and with three small children at home, this isn’t possible to do (there isn’t anyone who can babysit for me)…. So I’m really just looking for tips on how I, and I alone can begin to resolve this. Thanks!
Wow thank you for your answers! When she approaches the other dogs whilst out walking, she is trying to play so I’ll perhaps look into introducing her to other dogs she does not know yet. She has some doggy friends whom she sees regularly and she is absolutely fine with them. I don’t think she has an aggressive bone in her body, she’s so docile and laid back! I think it could be frustration with being in the leash maybe, but my goodness it’s embarrassing! She never used to do it! I’ll def try the washing line recall technique! such a good idea, would be so lovely to have her perfect in and out of the home!

What is my Labrador puppy mixed with?

What is my black Labrador puppy mixed with? Thanks in advance. :)

I have a black Labrador who is now 4 years old, we’ve had him since he was 2. I want to be able to take him out for walks and take him off his leash when at a field so he can run around. Has anyone got any good tips on how to train him to behave and not run off to other dogs or people when he’s off his leash, please? :)

These are Shelby’s faults. Shes a very good puppy but she is known for doing all of these things in one single day.
If you leave your food unattended she WILL eat it. She actually found a few screws under the paint and started knawing at the wall and there is actually a pretty decent sized paintless drywall area on the wall, and she loves chewing on things. She plays hard with my first dog, Peggy the Puggle. Peggy is getting old (6-9, dont know cause we adopted her) and Shelby is still a puppy and twice Peggy’s size and Peggy doesn’t like to play fight but Shelby does.
Shelby is a Black Labrador/Blue Nose Pitbull mix. Very active. Very loving. 6-8 Months.
My mom, dad, and even me have considered giving her up to an animal shelter. But I cant just give her away I love her very much and am willing to train her out of her bad behavior. She used to pee and poop on the tile floor but thats over and done with. How can I burn her energy down also? And any tips on how you trained your dog with some of the misbehavior that my dog has?
Im already planning on running with her in the mornings. How long should I run with her for? I was thinking just around the block. Is that too short of a distance?

Question about puppy training?

So I just got a puppy 2 days ago, a black labrador, and this is what I do with him: I wake up at 7 in the morning, feed him, then walk him so he can eliminate. Then I put him back at the crate to train crate train him and avoid him taking a piss everywhere (this happened the first night). then around 12 i play with him again (actually not only 12. i play with him a lot) then i wakk him around at 3 and then i put him back on the crate. I want him to be free inside the house, but he just takes a piss everywhere and our house is carpeted so that would be a disaster. any recommendations as to how i train this little boy? or am i doing something wrong? how many times should i feed him in a day? and is it okay to let him out the crate when he’s in the house? idk ha please help

House training Help Please?!?

My black labrador puppy is 6 months old. I feel like it’s almost impossible to house train him. I am willing to try anything, so please help, and be as detailed as possible, in what to do, and how to do this. I have tried getting him to go to the door but he just sits there and doesn’t make a sound, so if i’m in another room I have no idea he’s at the door, and if I’m not near him when he’s by the door he’ll just go anywhere he pleases. I need him to make noise, come to me, or do something that would show me he needs to go out. Please include how I should train him to do this. Thank you in advance!

Labrador Blood Shot Eyes/Anxiety?

Hi there

curious if anyone else has heard of such.

my black labrador 7 month old has bloodshot eyes whenever she is under stress/anxiety. she does have severe anxiety and we are working to help her with that.
on the scleral of each eye (white area around pupil).. sometimes its more then just bloodshot but pure red.

any idea if common?

the vet said its from her getting so "hyper" and having stress under situations and her nylon choker cutting off blood supply such as when we go to public places or during her obedience classes. however she gets this way without that on when at home and she gets anxiety caused from visitors for example.
her trainer said her bloodshot eyes are caused from stress/anxiety only and not the nylon choker.

also if anyone has a labrador with anxiety what helps? we train with her, give her mental challenges/games, retrieve with her, she has an acre of land to run on. she sleeps very little. i do give her melatonin once per day which helps more then the rescue remedy did.
thank you for any advice :]
