My boyfriend got a 10 week old puppy saturday (10-29-11). All the puppy wants to do is play when we are trying to sleep. We want him to learn that when the lights go out and we are in bed that its bed time for him also. He also hasn’t really went to the restroom in the house either. He would cry when he wants out but sometimes I cant get to him fast enough so he went to the restroom like 5 times in the house since we had him. Am i doing the right thing when he crys to take him outside?
PLEASE HELP ME!
Thanks,
Hannah & Dalton

I’ve just got myself a 8 month old Labrador Retriver & am finding it very to get her to obey. when I take her out for a walk she just runs wild & being very friendly she tends to scare people when she approches them. Also she digs holes in the yard & just chews through anything she gets. Any suggestions?

I have a one year old golden retriever puppy. Lately he’s been getting into everything. People I’ve talked to have said "oh it’s a puppy stage, he’ll grow out of it." He’s gotten a lot better, but lately he’s been in this stage where he acts like a big bad tough dog. No matter how many times we dicipline him, it just doesn’t seem to get through to him. I’ve watched dog training videos, (the dog whisperer), talked to a trainer, nothing seems to break his bad behavior.
We have a small pond in the back yard and just recently planted flowers around it. After we planted them we put him on his leash and walked him around it…telling him "NO!" So he knew it was off limits. (this usually works) but not 2 minutes later, he dug all of them up and ate them. He’s been digging holes non-stop all over the yard. I’ve read other similar questions and some of the methods seem harsh.
If anybody has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and suggestions!!!
He gets PLENTY of attention. It’s only when he’s outside going to the bathroom. we got him a chain to try and prevent him from digging in the flowers, but that just pissed him off even more & made him dig all around. lol and he has PLENTY of toys. he’s spoiled. I think he just wants our attention ALL the time..
thanks for the tips guys!!
oh & for the dumbass who said "shoot it" i hope you fucking burn in hell you piece of shit. (sorry for the potty mouth I normally don’t talk like that) I just don’t have respect for ignorant people like that.

We had a house fire in oct/04 and lost our 2 cats & 2 dogs. We’re ready to have housepets again. It’s a no-brainer with the cats, but, we will be introducing my munchkin to dogs, since she is too young to remember the ones we had. I am curious as to what are good breeds to have with young children. The 2 dogs we had were very old and were not threats to the baby. One was a cocker spaniel, the other a golden retriever/daschund mix (imagine a retriever with 3 inch legs-he was just too cute!). I am a firm believer that children should grow up with a companion or two if at all possible, and I am ready to start over again with a new dog.
I will definitely be looking to adopt, and I am not sure if I want a puppy, or one that is grown and house-broken already.
We have also been investigating retired greyhounds, but they are kind of iffy with cats.
I will have to find something soon as this is an incentive for potty training that IS WORKING!!!
Do NOT want any small yippy yappy things!

My 4 month old Labrador puppy has started to lose teeth & get some of her adult teeth. I was wondering if there is anything I can do during this period to help her out a little with the discomfort.

After 6mos. of convincing my employer to help me sign up for a lab training program, Dec.2006 he finally paid the tuition 25. directly into the in-house program which saved me 00. The amount was put onto my gross income and I have paid him back 85. so far to date. My problem is that I live in govt.assistance housing for low income families and they are questioning my gross income of which my rent is based. Although, I received no monies directly from my employer for the program, because it shows on my w-2s I’m afraid the housing authorities may try to evict me or worse, claiming I’ve been trying to defraud the system since I didn’t report getting the 25. to them. I did report the amt. when I did my taxes along with my gross income as it showed on my w-2s. I have to now prove it somehow that this advance was a loan to help me. My credit is too bad to get a regular loan. I have my paymt receipts, the paid program receipt, letter from employer, &w-2. What to else do I do?

My nephews are 3 and 5 years old. We just bought 2 months old labrador puppy. He’s harmless & cute. My nephews like to see and touch him if he’s in cage, but if we take the puppy out, they’ll scream and run away. We have told them many times that the puppy won’t bite and he likes kids and want to play with them, but they’re still scared. What should we do to make them not scared with this puppy? Any tips and ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

My mom is 79 & wants a dog to help lift things for her. She cannot bend over hardly at all. She & dad don’t have much money. She specifically wants a Golden Retriever. Is it possible for me to train the dog, or does it need to be trained by a professional? Are there places she could apply to get such a dog?

What you on about im not a good animal person? no one can treat my animals better than me.. what you on about in door cats? there normal domestic cats.. they go and play outside and they play inside… i think its more cruel to keep cats inside than letting them play outside!
