how do i train my labrador?

I have a 4 month old black Labrador. Every time he gets hyper and excited he starts biting everything that he can, usually something soft like a towel or shirt. Sometimes he gets so wild up that he starts barking and growling and jumps on me and tries to pull my shirt or my jeans. If I tell no! He gets even more hyper and goes after another object. What can I do to stop this behavior?
He never bites me in a harmful way. Just wanted to add that.

They loose their baby teeth between 4 and 6-months-old. When your dog gets wound up, wind him down. Change the games you are playing. Make sure you are taking him for walks too. If your command "no" isn’t working, change your command. "No" is not a good command for most of us, it comes up in normal conversation, and the puppy can think he is in trouble when he really didn’t do anything wrong. With my current puppy, I point, snap my fingers and use the command "no biting" For some reason I have to use a command, sound, and hand signal for her. I guess I have to snap my fingers at her to get her attention so she knows I am serious. When she sits and behaves, I say "good girl" so she knows what behaviors I want from her. While he is teething, trade your fingers for a toy or bone. You may want to use garden gloves when you are training.

Watch the Dog Whisperer – Cesar Milan. Until you can do that though, here’s a few things that Cesar tells his clients.
You must become the dominant pack leader. Currently, the dog doesn’t respect you. Take the dog on walks. With a puppy, the walks will have to be short because they physically can’t go far. Don’t pet the dog when it’s hyper – petting actually encourages the behavior. When the dog is hyper, ignor it or put it in a kennel. Good luck.
You need to take care of his needs. This means you need to put his butt to work. Labs love to play catch cause they are breed to retrieve game during hunting. Long walks, RUNNING, or hide and seek will all help drain that energy. If you don’t do this your lab will start to chew things up in the house and always be a pain in the butt trying to play in the house. Don’t want him to jump on you…….A knee to the chest with a stern NO! Will do the trick……..To mean……..Then cross your arms and turn your back to him and ignore him. If he is biting on something and you try pulling it from him guess what…….You just started a game and he is going to want to keep playing.
