I have a one year old golden retriever puppy. Lately he’s been getting into everything. People I’ve talked to have said "oh it’s a puppy stage, he’ll grow out of it." He’s gotten a lot better, but lately he’s been in this stage where he acts like a big bad tough dog. No matter how many times we dicipline him, it just doesn’t seem to get through to him. I’ve watched dog training videos, (the dog whisperer), talked to a trainer, nothing seems to break his bad behavior.
We have a small pond in the back yard and just recently planted flowers around it. After we planted them we put him on his leash and walked him around it…telling him "NO!" So he knew it was off limits. (this usually works) but not 2 minutes later, he dug all of them up and ate them. He’s been digging holes non-stop all over the yard. I’ve read other similar questions and some of the methods seem harsh.
If anybody has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and suggestions!!!
He gets PLENTY of attention. It’s only when he’s outside going to the bathroom. we got him a chain to try and prevent him from digging in the flowers, but that just pissed him off even more & made him dig all around. lol and he has PLENTY of toys. he’s spoiled. I think he just wants our attention ALL the time..
thanks for the tips guys!!
oh & for the dumbass who said "shoot it" i hope you fucking burn in hell you piece of shit. (sorry for the potty mouth I normally don’t talk like that) I just don’t have respect for ignorant people like that.
Im going to look at some labrador puppies this evening and am wondering what you look for in a puppy. They are 4 weeks old so they are moving around and have started to develop their own personality. I am certain that I want a female. What are the signs of a healthy puppy? Anything bad that I should be looking out for?
Ok there is some people that I dont trust that live near me and have tried stuff in the past. I want to train my dog to attack on command. On time one of those people tried coming in our yard and my dog is always nice, but the minute they tried opening the gate, she charged at them and turned into something ferocious. Please no negative awnsers. By the way, she is a German Shepherd/Labrador mix(I see mostly German Shepherd in her).
This is the 2nd part to this video on teaching your dog to not only come to you to both sides, but becoming comfortable in retrieving from both sides in the beginning as well. This dog training video also shows how you can refine or tighten the dog up a bit with a more narrow boundary on his coming into heel, and how to use the food as a distraction if you have used it prior in teaching your Labrador Retriever (or any dog for that matter) to come to you.
I have an 8 week old lab/rottweiler mix puppy. i want to crate train her to stay in a crate overnight. I have lots of blankets for padding and I have a clock that makes ticking noises, but if I have to go in the room that the crate is in she will start howling and barking and will do it for at least 15 minutes. I don’t know what else to do besides the clock thing.
I was thinking the chihuahua uterus could only supply a limited amount of blood to feed the puppy fetus. Would the labrador develop and be small, not develop at all, or grow too big for the chihuahua to handle?
My golden has a problem biting people in a friendly sort of way i guess, but he keeps biting and its starting to get real annoying. He likes to bite my little sister the most( i don’t know why but i think its because she has soft skin) and recently he bit my sister and some skin tore off and she started crying and my dad hit the dog with the remote and stuff. Its starting to get out of hand, how can I train him to stop biting anyone and everyone? PLEASE HELP A.S.A.P.!

I just got him today and at first he was a little scared of being in a new place, which is understandable but I want trying to "lure" him into the crate with some food and he went in fine but when I closed the door he started looking around frantically and crying, so I let him out. What can I do to get him to like the crate? Right now he’s just sleeping next to the couch.
Okay, now I got him sleeping in the crate after he was freaking out, crying and trying to use his teeth to get out, I went and lied down next to the crate and when I did he calmed down, so i gave him a few kibbles.
When he wakes up, will he start crying again? And if so, should I let him out to go to pee or leave him until he stops?
