AKC Champion blood certified male Labrador puppy?

Hi, ok I can buy a puppy from a AKC Champion Blood certified (Whatever that means) male and female labrador retrievers.
The male puppies are either black or chocolate and cost 0 (or best offer)..supposedly the guy has to move soon…
Just because the parents are AKC Champion Blood certified, does that mean the puppy i get will be so also?
My main goal is just to get a great labfor the family, but could I actually get paid to have my dog knock up another purebred lab? (What a life!)
How much should I offer for the puppy?
Is the purebred asking for more trouble then a lab mix from the pound?
Thanks!
no, not a troll question.. the guy selling the dog told me that, I could pimp out the dog..which like i said, is not main goal. my goal is to get a great dog for the family!
What is BYB? If he has the certified papers, why shouldn’t i think it is legit??
ok, i went to the official lab website..there are no "official" labrador retrievers even remotely close to me (Miami, FL) now what? Should I just get a Labrador mix from the pound? (and hope it has good temperment) or just buy this guy’s dog?
oh i forgot, he did say he had his dogs tested for bad bone genetics…and the dogs are supposedly good

Labrador Retriever = Big Problem; Help?

Alright, so here’s the deal:

A year ago, I bought a pure-bred Labrador Retriever, when he was 2 months old. Unfortunately, I started school about a month later, and pretty much every bit of training I put into him went out the window. My dad let him do whatever he wanted, and, well, the result is a very spoiled dog.

I moved now, and he’s with me, and I’m starting to train him again. But the problem is he’s already 1 year old, and he has really bad habits. I’m dividing my time between work, school and him, and he takes a lot of patience.

He chews everything (papers, clothes, furniture, shoes, my cat, my furry animals… you get the picture), he bites (because he likes someone, but it hurts!), he jumps on people (random strangers on the street) and when I take him for a walk it’s a whole other story: he runs after squirrels, cats, empty Tim Hortons’ cups of coffees, skunks, the usual. Of course, he drags me after him.

I’ve started being stricter with him, but he also knows how to play on people’s emotions (mine especially). He knows the basic commands like "fetch" "sit" etc., and most of the time he’ll listen. When he feels like it. There’s also something else: when I raise my voice to scold him, he thinks (thanks to my dad!) that it’s all play, so he starts running like crazy in the house, and I’m always afraid he’ll hurt himself (somehow, he doesn’t).

It’s been about 3 weeks since I moved, and the bad influence (a.k.a. my dad) has left his life, so my dog is starting to calm down. Sort of. But I was wondering if anyone has tips on how to train him, make him listen and behave.

Any & all suggestions will be appreciated.

P.S. Yes, I have considered a training school, but I just don’t have the money necessary for that. And no, I don’t want to give the dog away, I just want to train him so he’ll behave more.

Ideas on training a dog?

I got this e-mail from my cousin…about their new dog they adopted. Any ideas?

He kind of looks like a black golden retriever. He is VERY playful and chews anything and everything. He has eaten about ten pairs of underwear, three pairs of shoes, chewed a hole through the carpet on the stairs, and gnawed on my coffee table. I like him but he’s so destructive. We give him plenty of bones and rawhide things to chew on, but he goes after our stuff anyway

How to train my 7 mo-old Lab to play by herself?

She follows me from room to room with her toys in her mouth. We give her a reasonable amount of play time, both indoors as well as outdoors. However, she seems to want me to play with her and her toys forever. Right now, I just brought her back inside after walking and playing but she’s following me around with the toy in her mouth. She’s tugging at my jeans and she just won’t stop. There’s no way I can play with her all day and get anything done for the rest of the family. Do any of you have a dog who demands more attention than your children? How do I train her to play independently?

Why does my labrador puppy have little energy?

We just brought home a 16 week old full-bred labrador puppy from a local breeder. At the kennel she was full of energy, running in the field with us, etc… Since, we’ve had her home she’s VERY mellow. Very affection it but pretty mellow. We’ve already been to the Vet for the first visit, everything looks good. I’m concerned that something is wrong. I was expecting a lab puppy to be bouncing off the walls. Will she develop a more bouncy personality soon, or is this her true personality?

Thanks!
Update: She has had all of her shots, except Rabbies which she’ll get in 2 weeks. Vet gave her a clean bill of health, check stool and everything was clean.

Again, she’s very affection it, but just not bouncing off the walls like I was expecting. I don’t really want her crack-head crazy, but I want her to have energy. Hoping she’s just home sick. Anyone else experience this?

I have a Labrador retriever. He’s young and I am starting obedience training with him with the hope that we could do some waterfowl hunting someday. Have a problem with fetch. Have started with toys. When he brings it back, he wants to play tug of war or keep it away from me. Doesn’t want to hand it over. What is best way to remedy this. Thanks

P.S. Girlfriend played tug of war with it earlier and I’m pretty sure this is culprit.
